RYA & SAS COURSES FOR LEISURE
POWER COURSES

Local South African's aiming to sail in South African waters are required by law to hold a South African Sailing (SAS) license as RYA qualifications are not recognised by the local SA authorities unless held by a foreign passport holder.

SAS certificates are valid for owners intending to cruise internationally and are also accepted by almost all charter companies overseas. We recommend that you contact your charter company for verification regarding acceptable qualifications prior to selecting a course.

Ocean Sailing Academy is South Africa's oldest and finest sailing schools. Many thousands of sailors from all over the world have received their training and qualifications from OSA.
A wide variety of sailing courses are offered, for both career and leisure sailors.
OSA is an official RYA Training Centre. A full suite of RYA sailing courses for both sail and power boats is offered. RYA qualifications are recognised worldwide. OSA also offers a full range of SAS sailing courses. South African skippers require SAS certification before being allowed to take to the waters.
