Sailing Camp Dec 2011/Jan 2012

This program is a beginner’s course for 14 to 18 year olds and aims to give students something different to do with their friends during the first weeks of school break and to give the parents a bit of extra time to finish off the years work commitments before dedicating their time to their teenagers.

This course is a standard beginners SAS Yacht Hand course and the students leave with a SAS Course Completion Certificate. The course is predominantly practical and as there is no exam, the students can just relax and enjoy the new experience of sailing without worrying about intensive studying.

The training takes place from our base at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the yachts are moored in a secure marina each night. The instructor lives with the students to guide them through the finer points of living aboard, and after dinner the students are given free time ashore at the Waterfront  which lies within 300m of the yachts.

Although most students jump at the opportunity to sleep aboard, it is not compulsory. For those sleeping aboard, the recommended amount for food per day is R60, which is pooled and supplies bought from the local Pick’nPay.

Sleeping bags or duvets are required and we provide sheets, pillows and pillow cases.

Please contact us for further details and bookings (6 PER BOAT MAX).
