The aim of the 9 day course is to train and certify beginners or those with minimal experience to the level of SAS Day Skipper. On successful completion of the course, students receive SAS Day Skipper Course Completion Certificates which in conjunction with a VHF radio license, 200nm (including 2 night hours) and an eye test, enables the student to apply for the SAS Day Skipper’s license from South African Sailing.

A SAS Day Skipper’s license qualifies the holder to skipper a yacht offshore 25 miles from a safe haven or inland during daylight hours
